Bond & Bond Brand Manager Michelle Rowell was in tears during the filming of Bonds' new sales training tool.It was only during recording her segments that we discovered Michelle cries when she laughs, presenting interesting close-up challenges for director Steve King. But, laughter is only to be expected on a Video Promotions shoot where having fun is as important as getting the job done. Video Promotions was commissioned to produce a video outlining the Bond promise "You Won't Beat A Bonds Deal", and a series of 5 dramatised sales scenarios to reinforce this proposition and the "Show us a better deal and we'll beat it every time" promise on the shop floor. DVD was the ideal medium choice on which to distribute these training videos to the nationwide Bonds team, as they have plenty of them! DVD had the added benefit of allowing quick access to the clips the audience needed to watch via an on-screen menu, and, with simple programming, a 30sec introductory clip can play automatically every time the DVD is loaded to play. The benefit to Bond & Bond is a clearer understanding among sales staff of how the proposition can be used to take deals from the opposition- resulting in more sales.
Manukau City Mayor, Sir Barry Curtis, addressed the 3rd Annual World Technopolis Association in Mexico in December, outlining Manukau's commitment to an integrated future with science and technology. But what evidence did Sir Barry present to the conference that backed up his words?Video Promotions was commissioned to produce a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation that would dynamically communicate Manukau City's place in the world and its vision for the future- Smart Manukau. Video content from role-model Manukau business leaders, as well as a short profile on the "Face" of the city were integrated seamlessly into the PowerPoint presentation which was, delivered off a single CDROM, and projected onto a super-screen for the more than 2000 attendees. The benefit to Sir Barry was a presentation which was attractive, easily transported and loaded into the presentation system, and espoused the theme of the Association- technology.
Pead PR's launch of Microsoft's native gaming console XBOX in New Zealand was not only a powerful 'kia ora' to the X-Box, it was a great showcase of local music and talent. Something you'd want to keep a record of.In what was a night of celebrity dudes, marketing dudes and plain ol' dudes, the X-Box launch night featured a live broadcast from Sports Cafe, The Launch Party ( included videoing of the first X-Box sold in New Zealand) and a Free Concert that went 'till 3am featuring top local bands. The benefit to both Pead and Microsoft was recording valuable archive and news footage they can publish on web sites, use for ongoing publicity show-reels and event coverage for Microsoft team members in NZ and overseas unable to attend the event.
Auckland Theatre Company's production of 'The Rocky Horror Show' is poised for some history-making - Its special midnight show on December 31st 2002 will mark 'Rocky's 30th birthyear, AND be the first Rocky Horror production performed in its 30th year.ATC Silver Sponsor Video Promotions produced Rocky's TV commercials. Featuring the voice of Michael Hurst as Riff-Raff and computer-generated blood-dripping text, Video Promotions director Steve King has described this TVC as "the best one we've ever done that has Michael Hurst and blood-dripping text in it". We're also proud and excited about having signed on again, along with Lufthansa and Canon, as a Silver Sponsor for ATC's 2003 "Season of Stage", and every enquiry made from this website, or our bi-monthly "Video News" e-zine, goes into the draw to join us at ATC's next production.
You'd think that 10 corporate leaders could rattle off their 7 minute speeches with the ease of a well-oiled flywheel... well, they could- but as retail giant Farmers annual conference was being videoed, they needed "heads-up" presenters, not people looking down at their cue cards.Prompt Service were brought in to supply and operate high-tech (OK it's monitors reflected off glass, but it LOOKS hi-tech) conference prompting system and make them look good. The benefit to Farmers was the ability to easily tailor the speeches on the day without the speakers forgetting the details, and enabling them to keep eye contact with their audience. The result was so successful, production company Events Direct sent Prompt Service on the road to assist the touring General Managers give their presentations in Christchurch, Rotorua and Palmerston North. Prompt Service Manager/Operator Dave Horn was also seconded to MC each event! Farmers went on to use Prompt Service's conference screens for in-house presentations to home office team members later in the month. This was a major logistical operation for Prompt Service, involving the transport of essential equipment and sourcing of support gear on certain locations. Prompt Service has a network of key suppliers that allow our expertise to be used as efficiently as possible, anywhere in New Zealand. For more info on Prompt Service's... uh, service, the website is right here.
Multiflora required editing of existing video material into a presentation to be played on their promotional stand at a European trade show. The video had to preview the latest selection of Calla exotic flowers from their client Pukekaroro Exotics Ltd in an eye-catching manner. It also had to be produced for maximum impact and ease of playback. As with most tradeshow presentations DVD gave Multiflora the best combination of quality and low-maintenance 'looping' during the show, as well as flexibility of playback on any DVD player or DVD-R-capable PC. We were able to provide expert advice on what tradeshow presentations require, covering everything from the style and content of the video, to the most suitable playback format and equipment. The benefit to Multiflora of implementing our suggestions was that video did a better job of attracting attention to their display and presented more product in the short time that they had the audience's attention.
What better way to capitalise on yachting fever than something at the airport(?)The Louis Vuitton Cup is bringing hundreds of thousands of business people to Auckland International Airport, and Manukau Tourism Development Manager Catherine Croot thought flying "Enterprising Manukau"'s flag at the terminus was an opportunity not to be missed. They required a 5-min promotional video to play continuously above the Arrivals Gate at Auckland International Airport and feature 30-45 second vignettes on premier Manukau events such as The SPIG Ice sculpture Festival, 3-Day Event Horse Show, and Rally of New Zealand, taking place over the summer season. Video Promotions advised on an approach and style of presentation, manage the assembly of appropriate material, assist them with the scripting of the video, and produce the final master tape for delivery to Auckland International Airport. We were also able to supply sample drafts of communication such as material requests and copyright waivers, provide advice to Enterprising Manukau (and the airport) on the best presentation and delivery of the video, provide advice and suggestions for getting the most value from their investment - including being able to use this material for other projects based on our experience with this medium. The benefit to Enterprising Manukau of getting VP to produce this important promotional tool was that it was able to guarantee strong awareness of what events are taking place in Manukau, create excitement about what's happening in the city throughout the year, and drive more people to the nearest i-site for more information.
